Immediate Trauma Care training by fully qualified trainers based in Cockermouth, Cumbria

Our trauma training course covers the following subjects:

• Mechanisms of injury: projectile and blast • Basic anatomy of the respiratory system, circulatory system, heart, brain and nervous system, skeleton, abdominal cavity, urinary system and skin • Casualty triage and extended primary survey • Airway management and use of airway adjuncts; including oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal and i-gel airways, bag, valve and mask (BVM) and using manual aspirators • Vital signs monitoring • Oxygen and nitrous oxide administration • Categories of shock • Control of severe haemorrhage • Management of burns • Chest and abdominal trauma • Cervical spine immobilisation • Equipment for the trauma kit

Immediate Trauma Care training - 12 hours

Ideal for those who work within hostile environments, our trauma training course deals with the management of ballistic injuries. This course is suitable for those providing emergency care to casualties with projectile or blast injuries. The delegate must hold a current first aid at work certificate as a minimum. Certificates are valid for 2 years. Assessment of the course is on an ongoing basis by the trainer. In addition to providing trauma care training, we also provide manual handling training for individuals and organisations in Cockermouth and all over the UK.
